This is the 2nd paragraph of the poem. It describes a place in a cafe in Berkeley when the day clientele is so different from the night clientele. It tells of lovers talking about love and then fighting.
This place, where workers in the morn I’ve seen
begin their day
and night turn brothel of the heart ending
the dankness on bed they lay.
Chatter I hear all over and hushed whispers
I see when lovers pray
clasping hands and lips souls to one, of love
commencing then love explodes to fray.
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
