My Name

How can I explain to others
What is within me?
There are NO words
For how I feel
That Inner Knowing
Where I have no doubt
The certainty I never knew
Until the age of twenty-nine
When I fell in love
For Real
For the first time
And now, nine years later
This certainty occurs again
Where I know
The spiritual name I have received
By request
IS my own
Not revealed to me at birth
Yet describes me perfectly
That Great Spiritual Practice
That is Siri-Sadhana.

Becoming More Myself

I am a Buddhist
Have been for the last decade
I need to let go...
Of fear and step into faith
My family of origin
Surely loves me
Yet only I can say
What is truly right for me
I love you all too
I am proud of where I come from
But I am still me
And God has put me here
To honor that.
May all God's children
Be so honored.

Gratitude

For all that I have--
My family, my home
My faith
I am SO grateful
Words don't seem adequate
Rhyming escapes me
Oh well--my heart does not.
It stays true and guides me
I live from my heart
Each day as I breathe
I am utterly amazed
Just astounded by my life
I am so excited
Because I know
More gifts are on the way.
