Well, my Fellow Scribblers, here’s a new “Brain-Child.” It may not be good. It may not be bad. But it is definitely different!

While some may regard my ‘rantings’ as sometimes GOOFY – what can I say? I get GOOFY IDEAS that just have to be released! When the spirit moves me, I must write!

Each and every line rhymes the same! TOO MUCH? Too forced? I dunno! I just keep going through the Alphabet, over and over, searching for words that work. More often than not, some lines have to be moved, or flip-flopped – sometimes even whole verses.

I tend to think of writing like preparing a recipe for cooking, or baking. The words are the ‘ingredients’, the movement and location of each represents the ‘mixing’, and the rhyme and meter determine the final structure.

If the finished product turns out to be a Piece d’Resistance – GREAT! But sometimes when one clumsily bangs the oven door shut – ALAS! We have a ‘Fallen Cake!’ Might look like hell, but still tastes good, right? Is it Lemon Merengue? or just a LEMON?

Egomaniacs Use Many “I’s,”
While Potatoes Have Many “Eyes!”
And Positive Seamen’s Replies --
Are Always “Aye, Ayes!”

A Garbage Truck Is Followed By Many Flies,
And Many Soaps Are Full of Lyes!
Altho’ Negatives May Bring Our Demise,
Positives Are Better – Surely No Surprise!

Sometimes We Try Hard To Disguise,
Our Innermost Feelings, With Wherefores And Whys!
But When We Soar to Great Heights, Emitting Sighs,
We Grant Ourselves Some – “Oh, My, Oh, Mys!”

In The Depths Of Our Beings There Lies,
Sugarplums Of Poesy, For Gals N’ Guys,
We Write What We Wish – What We Devise,
Creating Our Literary Lil “Apple Pies!”

As The Western Sun Slowly Sets, It “Dies,”
Amidst The Squawking Of Seagulls’ Cries!
As We Bid Our Adieus, And Offer Goodbyes,
May We Always Be – Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise!
