Some UM Words

ALUM - can be an Astringent, or a Graduate.
BUM - a Hobo, or a Butt.
CUM - Latin, for ‘with’ - as in ‘Cum Laude.’
DUM - a Note, as in ‘Dum, De, Dum, Dum.
ELUVIUM - accumulated soil, sand, or silt.
FUM - another Note, as in ‘Fe, Fi, Fo ...’
FUME - to emit: Anger, Gas, Smoke, or Vapor.
GUM - tooth Base, or Chewy flavored Stuff.
HUM - to sing without words, or a droning sound.
ILIUM - that Place where your Backbone connects to Pelvis -
Or - that Place with ‘Topless Towers’ - TROY!
JUMP - measure of close distance, as in ‘Hop, Skip, or a ... away!’
KUMMEL - a Baltic colorless liqueur or cordial.
LUMBAGO - a Pain in the Wadda-Call-it!
MUM - keep quiet, or a Flower, or BR. For ‘Mom.’
NUMB - unfeeling, or emotionless. Add NUTS (see Matlack).
OVUM - female reproductive cell, or egg.
PLUMB - in perfect alignment, precisely, exactly, totally, utterly.
QUANTUM - a quantity or amount.
RUM - that Good Booze from Puerto Rico!
SUM - the total Amount of anything.
TUMID - a swollen body part, or bombastic language.
UM - a grunt, or sound, a hesitation in speaking.
VALIUM - a Really Good Tranquilizer - See Kostro!
WAMPUM - Indian Beads, used for decoration, or Money.
XYLEM - plant tissue that carries water and minerals to stem.

YUM - AS IN ‘DAMN THAT’S GOOD!’
ZOARIUM - a collection of distinct organisms,
That together form a compound organism.
