WHY? WHY NOT? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Why Did My Feeble Mind Even Ponder ... This Silly Exercise? WHY? As I Drive along at Work, Three Days a Week, Delivering Prescriptions to Sick People ... I DREAM !!! WHAT IF ... I HIT ? WHAT WOULD I DO ? About 25 Years ago, the "X" and I were looking for A Waterfront Home to Buy! The One I Loved ... She Didn't! It was a Beautiful Two-Story ... Nestled on about Two Acres ... All Nice and Level ... Sloping Gently Down to the Water ... A Quiet Cove just off Middle River ... The T-Shaped Pier had Electricity and Running Water! On the Left, between the Pier and the House ... Was a Single-Story Concrete Block Building ... With Screened, Jalousie Windows. The Interior was about 20' X 30' ... A FULL COMPLETE KITCHEN ... In the Center were Two Large Picnic Tables! I COULD JUST 'SMELL' THE STEAMED CRABS & SHRIMP ! OH ... WHAT CRAB FEASTS COULD BE HELD HERE! ALAS! T'WAS NOT TO BE !!! Between the Driveway, Parking Pad, and Lawn ... About 40-50 Cars Could Be Parked! PARADISE RE-VISITED !!! So ... IF I WON THE LOTTERY ... What Would I Do? 1. Knock on the Door ... Ask the Owner If he thought the Property ... Was Worth $1,000,000 ? If he said Yes ... I'd Offer TWO MILLION ON THE SPOT ! 2. After CLOSING, I'd hire a Contractor to Build ... A Concrete Block Garage With TEN Doors ... Front & Back - 5 Each ... So I Could house 20 Antique Cars ... And Never Have to 'Jockey' Them Around to Get Out! 3. Then, My Search Would Begin ... A 1955 Nash Metropolitan Convertible with Continental! A 1960 Volkswagen 'Beetle-Bug'! A Vintage 1956 Renault Dauphine! A 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser Convertible Turbo! FOUR PICKED ... ONLY 16 MORE TO GO! JAY LENO ... EAT YOUR HEART OUT !!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That's Just 'Some' of My DRUTHERS !!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reminds me of a Really Old Joke ... Every Night Joe Checked The Lottery Results ... Every Night in Bed Joe Prayed to God to Help him Win. Days, Weeks, Months Went By ... Somebody Else Always Won ... I can see the lust for "toys" and position in your wish list of excess. In a way I can see your point. I visited the Mecum auction here in Houston yesterday and I must admit that if I had the money, I would buy about half the cars displayed. There were some plain Janes, some real weirdos, but, for the most part, the cars were immaculate and highly desirable. I must admit that I prefer the older cars.

As far as your illustration of life's phases, I regret having reached that second to last phase about 30 years ago and holding. Like Jack Benny, I think I'll stay 29. Even if I can't drive a jalopy anymore.
