Poem Artwork

Inspired by Karla J. Dorman’s

Poem – Needle, Naddle, Noo

This is the tragic tale

Of a forlorn lover’s quest,

To find the one responsible

For sending his true love to her rest.

Barney’s one and only love

Had resided in Great Britain.

She was absolutely gorgeous;

He was absolutely smitten.

He wrote Evelyn epic love letters,

Almost every night and day.

He was eagerly looking forward,

To meeting her this May.

Alas, their happy reunion

Was not allowed to be.

For one fine spring day,

She met with violent tragedy.

While in a flower garden

Joyously frolicking and playing,

Along came a human,

His might, he was displaying.

He carelessly swatted Evelyn down,

And while she was on the ground,

He stomped her with his boot,

And - he splat her.

Now Barney the lovesick bee,

Who is devastated with misery,

Has quite hastily,

Flown out to sea.

He flies both night and day,

And he has vowed not to linger,

Until vengeance is found,

With his long deadly stinger.

 This kamikaze bee,
Has pledged that he,
Will find this human
Named - Andy.

So, Sir Andy, lock all your doors,

Before Barney reaches your shores.

And pray to Neptune, God of the Sea,

That Barney the Bee is blown off course.

Because if he finds you,

He knows what he will do,

And his aim will be true ,

Because his one and only love

- Has been splat.

And there is no deadlier bee,

Than a vengeful lovesick bee,

So you had better flee,

To perhaps, southern Italy.

And if for some reason, you can’t run,

You should don your knightly armor, son.

Because Barney’s wrath won’t be fun,

He might even be aiming – for your bun.
