I certainly have.

Like a cat up in a tree?

I certainly have.

Like a mischievous child?

I certainly have.

Like you could accomplish anything?

I certainly have.

Have you ever had the irresistible impulse,

To climb a tree?

I certainly did,

Yesterday,

And I will never do it again.

I got stuck,

Couldn’t get down,

My neighbor had to call

The fire department,

To rescue me.

Have you ever felt

Like hiding in your house

For the rest of your miserable life?

I certainly do.

Please don’t tell my wife about this; it’s just too embarrassing.

It’s bad enough that my pets sat in the window for hours,

Giggling mercilessly. I’m not talking to any of them right now.
