My Annual Halloween Party

Was a Bloody Ghoulish Success

My friends always say

That my shindig’s the best

Everyone wore freaky costumes

We all howled at the moon

But for me Halloween night

Always ends way too soon

We all ate and drank heartily

We danced to the Monster Mash

But this mornin I’m feelin like hell

And man oh man is my house trashed

My wife’s sick as a dog in our bed

She won’t make it in to work today

And I bet she’s lyin there thinkin

For this party he’s really gonna pay

I must have put too much vodka

In my Wicked Witches Brew

And added too many hot peppers

To my famous Devils Chili Stew

My head hurts like hell

I’ve got an awful gut ache

My eyes are real blood shot

And I still can’t think straight

I just discovered a vomit trail

Leadin down my darkened halls

I really can’t remember doin that

But I don’t think it’s Old Kitty’s hairballs

I guess I should try to get up and check

Our spare room for any passed out guests

But I really hate disturbin my pets

Since they’re too scared to come out yet

And to make matters even worse

I raided the Halloween candy

I can’t believe I ate it all

Now isn’t that just friggin dandy

But I just noticed one giant piece

That I must have somehow missed

And to think that just a few hours ago

All those damn sweets brought so much bliss

I sure hope we’re not out of aspirin this mornin

I could really use some Pepto Bismal too

God how I already miss bloody Halloween

The day after always makes me so damned blue

Hmmm... seems to me the 'retiree' needs to get off his 'tush' and begin to push the mop and pail for his lovely wife, who continues to ail! Did you see me over in the corner? I was the one combing the snarls outta Eddie M's hair!!

This has got to be one of your finest hilarious hours, LE... please tell me, in your stupor, that you didn't see double on the ballot and mark the wrong guy! Jaysus! hehehehehe..... every vote counts, you know. (grin) katy xox. p.s. hey... Illinois went blue, too... oh, ye, of little faith.. tsk tsk. hehe katy xox.

Any this poem was a hoot, as was Thomas review. Can't wait to see what you do with Christmas and New Year's. ~ Sara

Ed you are a master craftsman and writer. poetry and whatever you pen is mightty! There has to be a lot of envy mixed with love for you. For you do it all my friend. Stand at the very top. See i don't evaluate just the man but the skill turns me on. Be what you are ... true to self and your ability will take you far in life. Don't get involved in small things at AD. They only rob you of life and victory. APPLAUSE AND STANDING OVATIONS ARE IN ORDER. HIP HIP OLAY!

El Captain, when you throw a monster bash, it’s such a wonderful smash! Too bad about all the candy being eaten though, I really need a sugar rush to help me deal with today’s worrisome project. Any hoot it was fun but I’m all done, because I gotta run! Have an easy day, my friend. You’ve earned it. You better watch where you’re walking though… lol… better yet just stay in bed with the misses, and maybe she just might give you a few kisses. Take care and be well.

Ah those dreaded mornin' afters! It won't kill ya..but there will be times you'll wish it would.
I suggest a couple of aspirin, a cool dark room, and a clear pathway to the bathroom..
In the end it will be 'flushed' down the drain!
'til next time....

Aren't parties grand!

Lisa
