On a very pleasant trip to Alaska,

Not all that very long ago,

My spouse and I took an excursion,

By prop plane, to the frigid North Pole.

It was quite an awesome adventure,

And I collected a few souvenirs,

Like this merry Santa Claus dollar,

That I will cherish through the years.

But as I was gazing at it,

Just the other day,

I made a startling discovery,

It really shocked me, I’d say.

Dear old North Pole Santa

Bears a striking resemblance,

To one of AD’s own members,

And now to me it all makes sense.

The AD member I’m referring to

Loves to write comical Santa Claus poems,

And he, like Santa Claus, is a free spirit,

With a traveling heart meant to roam.

He’s also kind to all sorts of furry critters,

And to the brat pack in his neighborhood,

And he does what he can to help people,

As every one of us truly should.

He also often works part-time

As a bold adult male dancer,

The ladies love his Santa Claus routine,

On stage, he is definitely quite the Prancer.

He spends his summers near the shore,

In a very secluded motor home park,

He must sneak up to the North Pole,

In the dead of winter – after dark.

He is one of the nicest people

That I have found here on AD,

And now I finally know why,

He’s a very clever rascal, you see.

Merry Christmas, Santa,

And HO HO HO!

Bet you never thought I’d discover

You’re deep dark secret so old.

Keep on penning your Santa poems,

Keep on writing with so much joy,

And please bring me a very nice present,

Cause this year, I’ve been a very good boy!
