Viking Summer Camp

Hello Uncle Erik - Hello Mighty Thunder God Thor
Well here I am – at the Viking Summer Camp’s door
And it's very - entertaining
They say we'll have some fun - if it stops raining

I went hiking - with my cousin Leif Erik
He was bitten by a snake – now he’s in hysterics
You remember – skinny Sven Skinner
Well he just got boiled up – for our dinner

Take me home, oh Erik and Thor
Please take me home, I hate it here
Don't leave me, out in this forest
Where I might get eaten by a bear-ear

All the old timers - hate the come laters
And the yucky green lake - has alligators
And the Viking Camp Director - wants no sissies
So he reads to us from something called - Ulysses

Take me home, I promise I will not, make noise
Or mess Bilkskirner’s halls with Viking boys
Oh please don't make me stay
I've already been here - one whole day

And I don't want - to-oo scare ya
But my best friend - has malaria
You remember – Ulgaard Johaardy
They're about to organize a searching party

Dearest Thor – Dearest Uncle Erik
How's my precious – brother Yerik
Let me come home - if you miss me
I’ll even let Aunt Jarnsaxa - hug and kiss me

Take me home, I promise I will not, make noise
Or mess Bilkskirner’s halls with Viking boys
Oh please don't make me stay
I've already been here - one whole day

Wait a minute! - It's stopped storming
Kids are raiding - kids are swarming
Sacking villages - gee that's better
Erik and Thor – kindly disregard this letter

Thanks,

katy xxx

LOL. Gosh I'mm old I remember this song too.

Erik the Red was the first to discover yanky doodle land.

Way back way Katy's great grandfather, to the power of ten, may have united with my great grand mother, to the power of nine.

She may be a long lost relative?

Wonder how many yanky doodles have my related blood. I mean from long ago, not when I worked over the pond...(thinks, better not go over, bloody csa)

I was at that camp,
I went there by mistake,
They killed me there,
Then fried me up like a steak...ed

XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOX SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOCH!

Gosh, Little Eddie... it took me eons to tear away from that grand ship with my fabulous ancestor on the sail... Sigh.

You have honored me, and by doing so, you have honored my great Viking dad, named Orvin! (hehe) I'm trying to be light and playful, in keeping with your hilarious and seemingly well-researched piece (some great names here! grin) but, alas, I lag behind, a lump in my throat, some audible sniffles, too, because this is just so touching to me... such a beautiful expression of friendship.

Thank you, Little Eddie K... this makes my day! Sigh... katy xox.
