She had been living in a small apartment

The day Hurricane Katrina came to town

Her best friend was truly precious to her

How she loved having the little guy around

But when the building was evacuated

Her Precious was not allowed to go

Now she worried and fretted about him

How she missed her little Precious so

But thankfully her tiny friend was now safe

He’d been taken to our camp in Mississippi

And what a grand Holiday reunion this was

Which filled both her and this dog with glee

When this elderly woman was asked how she felt

She responded, “I’ve got everything I need now.”

And this truly marvelous Holiday pet/human reunion

Makes even my Christmas much more precious somehow
