Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz - Pet Detective

-Intro-

She’s a very feisty roving freelance reporter

For a major chain - The Atlantic Coast News

She writes books reviews in the Sunday papers

And she has always been interested in pet rescue

One day not that very long ago

She started following Detective Rufuz all over town

She had been tipped that he was now on a major case

And she knew that he was the best pet detective around

Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz, of course

Knew that he was being tailed

Even his human sidekick Matlack

For once his instincts had not failed

“Hey, Boss,

I think that lady’s following us!”

“Nonsense, Matlock,

She’s just trying to catch the bus.”

“Huh?!”

But this very determined reporter

Kept hounding our Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz

Until he did agree to an interview one day

Although he was embarrassed by all the fuss

Rufuz and this reporter have since become good friends

And now Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz doesn’t mind her many calls

In fact when he solves a case he gives her an exclusive Scoop

Since she did pen a wonderful review of his comic book after all

The Review

As dusk falls, Ace Pet Detective Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz is once again seen diligently heading off through the neon lit streets of bustling Atlantic City on yet another valiant pet rescue mission.  And usually strolling along by his side, is his ever faithful, but usually somewhat confused, human pal, Matlack.

As Matlack would point out, that’s MATLACK, not MATLOCK, like that other old guy on TV.

Rufuz has written and illustrated an engaging comic book based on his exciting life as a pet detective that pet loving humans of all ages should really love. It should be well received by children in the primary grades, as well as by animal loving adults.

This new comic book series has many inviting touches: one I find particularly appealing is the nearly constant humorous banter between Rufuz and his human pal, Matlack, whom Detective Rufuz loves to tease.

”Where are we heading tonight, Boss?”

“Why, that’s elementary, my dear Matlock!”

“It is?!”
