Rummaging through many of my travel photos

Has taken me on some magnificent mind journeys

I can’t wait to head out on some more adventures

My heart and soul have a true wandering yearning

There’s much I haven’t seen yet

So many truly enchanting places

So many wondrous creatures

So many landscapes and faces

The world we live in and take for granted

Was truly created by a marvelous hand

And one really need not journey very far

To observe something unique and grand

And if you cannot afford a vacation

There’s no need to fuss and fret

There’s something quite interesting

Very close to your home I would bet

Perhaps it’s a tiny wild marsh

Or it could be a sunny ocean beach

Perhaps there’s a moss-covered cave

Just down the old dirt road a piece

Maybe it’s a quiet little lake

Or a stretch of desert sand

Or a mountain top so majestic

It soars high above the land

Maybe it’s a glorious bird-filled forest

Or a golden meadow by a babbling brook

Wandering through this glorious planet of ours

Is far better than reading about it in any book

A lovely day trip through a botanical garden

Can whisk your mind off to an exotic setting

And even at your very crowded city park

There’s something marvelous I’m betting

Get out and enjoy earth’s many wonders

On your life’s journey before it’s too late

I plan to do this more and more each day

And my wandering heart and soul can’t wait
