Life’s a journey

So they say

But we often stray

Along the way

We get caught up

In mundane things

We often forget

What life can bring

We work and toil

And curse each day

Tired and aggravated

We forget how to play

We rant and rave

And we envy a lot

We fuss and we fight

And get tied in knots

Perhaps instead

Each brand new morn

We should look around

At all the miracles born

A baby’s giggle

A mother’s love

A father’s trust

A helpful shove

A good day kiss

A sweet embrace

A friendly wave

A smiling face

A new fall morn

A loved one’s sight

A whippoorwill’s call

A favorite song’s delight

A long walk in the woods

With a dog by your side

Pausing to take it all in

With no hurry in your stride

Nature’s beauty

A goodnight kiss

God’s grace

Evening’s bliss

Journeys can

And should be fun

Smell those roses

Walk don’t run
