Pink Flamingo Series

These days I really feel like good old Santa

Filling many orders for Christmas Flamingoes

And a letter I received from a man in New Jersey

Has really touched my merry old heart and soul

“Dear Mr. Ed,

I know you only rescue pink flamingoes,

But I wonder if you could forward my letter,

To Santa Clause, who lives at the North Pole.

“Ever since I was a very young child,

I’ve always yearned for a blue flamingo,

But I only seem to see the pink ones,

No matter where in New Jersey I go.

“So if you wouldn’t mind, Mr. Ed,

Could you send my request to Mr. Clause?

I bet he knows where to find a blue one,

After all, at Christmas time, he’s the boss!”

This truly heartfelt letter really touched me

So I soon rushed off to my workshop out back

And with a little Holiday magic and blue paint

I soon had a blue flamingo ready to mail in a sack

“Dear Mr. Matlack,

I’ve forwarded your letter to Santa for you,

And I am extremely happy to relay this news,

For Christmas, he’s sending you one that is blue!”

I’ve decided not to tell Mr. Matlack of New Jersey,

That his flamingo is not really from the North Pole;

Making someone happy at the Holidays,

Should truly be everyone’s Yuletide goal.

And I just received another request for a blue one,

From a young lad in England named Little Andy;

It looks like I’m really going to be busy this Holiday Season,

So I better keep lots of different colors of spray paint handy.
