I never would have thought in a million years

That bringing two old plastic pink flamingoes to our new home

Would have ever spawned all of these new ideas that we now have

And certainly wouldn’t have ever spawned all these flamingo poems

First began our campaign to save discarded lawn ornaments

And then we soon began decorating them for the Holidays

And very soon it was as if I were jolly old Saint Nick himself

Opening a Flamingo Workshop and our Flamingo Store displays

Now it seems that in her joyous new enthusiasm over Pink Flamingoes

My lovely spouse has decided that we should open a Pink Flamingo bar

So I just finished erecting a neon roof sign on old Thornwood Manor

That any passersby should be able to see clearly from both near and far

I also just spent the entire afternoon yesterday in my old truck

Posting Pink Flamingo Lounge posters on old Rural Route Three

Although this muddy dirt road in the middle of nowhere isn’t busy

I was able to post all those ‘Grand Opening’ Lounge signs for free

So here we now stand out in the old front yard with our flamingoes

Eagerly awaiting the first customers to the new Pink Flamingo Lounge

We have decided to go with a fabulous ‘Down Home’ theme 

Since we are in the middle of nowhere and there aren’t any cities around

So if anyone out there in old Author’s Den

Happens to be driving down Rural Route Three

Please stop in at the new Pink Flamingo Lounge

We have one hell of a fabulous collection at the lounge

Of fine old Country Western Blues and Rockabilly Tunes
