Yet Another

Of My Strange Recurring Dreams;

Dedicated to Eileen Waldron,

AD’s Cosmic Traveler

I am hunkered down in a rain forest

And it seems that I am very much alone

I’ve fled here for some much needed peace

Devoid of modern conveniences like phones

I sit serenely and contentedly at a tiny stream

Sipping cool refreshing water and eating fruit

I’m enjoying listening to the songs of the birds

And far in the distance an ancient melodic flute

Suddenly the rain forest becomes completely silent

I stand and feel the very earth trembling all around

Now I gaze to the heavens in an easterly direction

And spot an enormous white sphere quite profound

It seems to be heading directing for our planet

I soon realize that there is nowhere that I can run

So I silently stand there awaiting its deadly impact

It’s growing in size now much brighter than the sun

But just before it strikes Mother Earth

I spot some intriguing symbols at its core

I am truly astonished by its sheer brilliance

And before it hits, I always wake up like before

And I always wonder what it is that I have been dreaming

The giant sphere’s dark center looks like a Galactic Butterfly

Is this the start of new life, or the beginning of the last nuclear war,

Should I rejoice in this revelation, or should it bring a tear to my eye

Since I’m apparently in a rain forest in this dream, I always think of the ancient Mayans whenever I experience it.  I’ve visited their ancient pyramids in the Yucatan, and they are most impressive.  They are precisely aligned to mark the yearly Solstices and Equinoxes that are caused by the precession of the Earth's axis as it orbits the Sun.  So are the ancient Egyptian pyramids at Giza.

These Mayans were yet another now long gone ancient civilization who diligently studied the heavens, and who believed in life after death.  And their ancient calendar very mysteriously comes to an abrupt end on December 21, 2012 (the Winter Solstice) – which they called the beginning of  the new ‘Golden Age.’

These ancient indigenous peoples also believed in the ‘Hunab Ku,’ the Galactic Butterfly, which symbolized life beyond the Sun.  It was believed to be the galactic core, or beam of light, from which emanates all life, consciousness, and even God. The Mayans believed that we are all connected to this core through invisible threads that stretch along a beam of light that passes through the Sun to the very center of the universe.

And the Galactic Butterfly is said to represent all of the consciousness that has ever existed in the entire galaxy. This includes all of our physical ancestors - human, animal, reptile, fish, and plant, as well as the ‘Grand Consciousness’ which organized all of the numerous raw materials contained in a gigantic whirling disk of galactic emptiness into the stars, the planets, the solar systems – and into our very lives.

And amazingly, the ancient Greeks believed butterflies to be human souls, flying off to Heaven.  They also likened them to our cognitive thoughts and spirits; and this is where the term ‘psyche’ comes from.

Dreams are truly fascinating things, as are the beliefs and astronomy skills of many sage ancient peoples, who no longer walk this earth.

And should we be terrified of the end of the world as we know it, or should we, perhaps, actually accept its arrival, as the Mayans seemed to do?

Perhaps, the end of the world,

Truly now does draw very near,

But will we face it with few regrets,

Or filled with shame, guilt, and fear?

I will believe the end of what we know now will come in 2012. And what you saw is the begining of something that once was and will be again. Those of us that will be engulfed or become apart of this new begining will see things as they are menat to be. Thanks for the information as well. I have been to see the things you Mexico and I believe.

I feel the same way is the end coming near. Do people feel any guilt about killing animals or are they happy when they've gone?

Ed, I lived each line and could almost feel the moisture in the air and fill a fear for the unknown. You pulled this reader right into the rainforest immediately and my mind keeps wanting to know why you are repeatedly dreaming this. There's got to be something in your subconscious. I enjoyed this.

E x c e l l e n t ! Subject could not be more important, and you have handled it so creatively. Put us right there beside you in that verdant, life-breathing forest. We all look up, praying the sphere bodes well. Realize that its brilliance is caused by poison that we are responsible for getting rid of {or trying?}, but. . .always hope, I suppose. Thank you for this well-thought-out and satisfying-to-read {if conscience-provoking) reminder. Hugs 'n' Mo', Mizzuz Swackleswerd

Mr Ed, you write well of the mysteries of the past and history, and yet you also place thought of beginnings and endings that surely will come and turn dreams into reality, like the Mayans of old and tales of Greek and or Egytian, the World is but a small grain of sand with the Universe. The infinite possibilities are like time, neverending, whether life after death, or new life after catastrophic endings, it is the enormity of Life and the smallness of us, that finds us wondering of All these possibilities.

It is so nice to read the views of many who can relate to the very silence within a Rain Forrest of dreams, and your tribute and poetic display of revelation is one that many can read and find reflection...

enjoyed your work on this view of thought...Art Sun...

Mr Ed I'm honored for the dedication!;-) This is so beautifully written, you know I too wonder about whats happening to our rain forests, and the Mayan calendar is being mentioned more nad more now that 2012 is only five years away. In fact it seems unbelievable that it is so near.;-) We need to have our hearts and souls prepared for all possibilities, since we aren't sure about dates, but we've been given enough warnings to stay alert to what's happening. There will alwayts be the scoffers, but they don't bother me;-)

Tiger Lily

Many of wisdom walk amongst us still they are not honored as such that is all. I believe in the end of the world as we know it now will be quite the surprise for only those who don't believe in the things you express here. Dreams like this make peace for what is to come. The shame for our world condition does not rest on the shoulders of someone as you who honors this earth. This you show us each day through writes like this. Lady J

Benn in Chichen-Itza and around the pharao's piramids too, but most impressed was with the Incas and how the heck those builders raised Machu-Pichu, so high that nearly the condor wouldn't soar. They all had some knowledge that the damn conquistadores spoiled for all of us with their Inquisition kind of religion.
The rain forest of Borneo, Congo and Amazonas could be the place of the dream, the sphere not the sphere but the light at the end of the tunnel when the soul chucks the smelly body.
In old times, they thought that a recurring dream was an omen.
Keep dream and tell me if if was a big bang after all.
Excellent.
