‘All Dogs Love Trucks’

As the commercial proclaims

And for a dog named Lillie

Life will never be the same

Lillie is a sweet motherly female dachshund

This kitten was found under a truck’s hood

The kitten was named ‘Tahoe’ after the truck

Their life together so far, has been very good

When Lillie first saw this forlorn kitten

Her maternal instincts quickly kicked in

Although not pregnant or nursing any puppies

She began producing milk for this cat so very thin

These days you will now find Tahoe nursing from Lillie

His surrogate Mom loves him despite all his feline features

Animal stories like this always cause me to pause and ponder

Why we humans cannot be as compassionate as other creatures

Two teenaged girls recently found another tiny homeless kitten in need

But instead of feeling any compassion, they quickly decide to set it ablaze

Now this tiny forlorn kitten barely clings to life today after numerous surgeries

Are we humans made in God’s image – I doubt that more and more these days

An extremely highly paid athletic role model for today’s modern day youth

Runs an extremely vicious dog fighting and gambling operation on the side

Helpless pups used as ‘bait’ to train canine victims who are then slaughtered

Are these examples of modern human activity supposed to fill our souls with pride?

But these very sad days,

I now often wonder,

If it’s already far too late,

For us to learn to live the way God intended,

Perhaps, we have already sealed our own fate.
