Chapter Seven - Battle of The Eds

“Learn Now,

Of The Treachery,

Amongst The Ancient Eds.”

Ed Virgil

Ancient Poet and Philosopher

“Gosh Darn It, and Gee Whiz, Tiger Lily,

Why’d you make me take a bath tonight?

I left my best Rubber Duckies on board,

And, ya know, this just doesn’t feel right.

But I’ve been readin a real good book,

It’s by another pirate named Salty Walt;

Hey! Could ya look around a little for me,

And see if Ed Island has any Epsom Salts?”

“Will You Keep Your Voice Down, Please!

Who knows where those other Eds are?

And you haven’t taken a bath in weeks,

So scrub really hard, with that Ivory bar.”

“Oh, All Right! But what about Edna?

That real Nun is gonna ruin your plan;

And for old time’s sake, dear Tiger Lily,

Can ya tell me again, I’m Yer Best Man!”

“Will you just shut up already, Jersey Devil,

I have to go put on my clever Nun disguise;

And don’t you worry yourself about old Edna,

My meddling Twin will get Quite the Surprise!”

“Good!  And can I have a few more quarters?

“I’m hungry, and I gotta get somethin to eat.”

“Just finish your bath, You Best Man Ed, You,

And don’t forget those god-awful, devilish, feet.”

“Yes, Tiger Lily…”

All the Ancient Eds Assembled,

Will Now Be Quite Overjoyed,

Bath Time Was Long Overdue,

For This Old Matlack Pirate Boy.

And Rufuz just received a message

From The Ednadite Headquarters

In Ednaville.

Apparently, their ancient Ed Isle Maps

Have been purloined by an Impostor!

Don't leave a ring
around that porcelin tub;
there are thieves aboard
and I'm told that they hoard
particles of Eds,
ever attempting to find
a way to our mind,
and siphon out the brains in our head.

Toss away the rubber Duckie too,
for he is in peril
'cause he's no longer sterile.

Raise the sails on that tub
and prepare to launch,
and stand up my man,
don't stay down on your haunch!!

There's oceans to sail
and lassies to ravish,
for we are brave pirates
we must always be boyish.

Oh Pee wee Pee wee
Don't be mad at me
This is Edna begging you
Tiger Lily deceived me
She left with Salty Walt
With all our money from the vault
Please Pee Wee hear my request
I always loved you best
I never was a nun, Tiger Lily
Made it all up to fool you
To make sure I'd never get you
When you had your amnesia
It was me you married not her
Please help me hubby dearest
I'm waiting for you in the nunnery

Edna your true wife

From a duckie thief to another duckie thief, who can be trust?
The man with the five dogs or the man with a dog with five legs?
Hope the hilarious saga continue.

It was easer to follow this when there weren't so many side Eds and Edna's. But you could all use a bath I'd say if I know anything about seafaring adventures. I'll have to check the other Ed's response!

As you prepare to wear the habit
Could it be that Edna, the nun,
Is truly not your twin
but your other personality?

Inquiring minds want to know the truth ...
