These are some pictures

That don’t get much press

These are American pictures

That should cause us all stress

These are American pictures

Politicians hope you don’t see

These are American pictures

Of our generation’s U.S. legacy

Picture this very young dolphin

Swimming along so very care free

Then being gunned down from a boat

Because he eats fish sold to you and me

Picture this female grey wolf way up in Alaska

So joyously playing with her pups and her mate

Then shots ring out from a small airplane up above

To collect the bounty, this American hunter can’t wait

Picture these two innocent American horses

About to be stabbed in the back at least ten times

Then hung by their legs and butchered while still alive

An atrocity such as this, in America, used to be a crime

Pictures such as these three modern day American photos

Are now happening all across our vast and once great land

Should we put them in a photo album for our grandchildren

Or should we finally say enough is enough, and take a stand

Or perhaps, we should insert them in our Christmas Cards

And send them to all our many friends who reside overseas

To prove to the world how compassionate and caring we are

Here in The Land of The Brave and The Home of The Free

We had federal laws in this country that prohibited such horrors

But our politicians don’t enforce them, and most of us don’t care

We can continue to ignore them, and pretend America is still great

Or we can contact our legislators and let them know that we’re aware

The Marine Mammal Protection Act was passed in the 70s to protect dolphins

Barbaric aerial hunting was banned back in the 70s, and it’s not being enforced

Butchering horses for human consumption was prohibited years ago in the U.S.

So we now allow slaughterhouses in Canada and Mexico to kill America’s horse

If these are the types of pictures you don’t want in your American photo album,

Please contact your legislators today, and demand that they renew and enforce:

The Marine Mammal Protection Act

Protect America’s Wild Animal Act (PAW)

&

The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act

Plans are already being made to kill our sea lions and dolphins,

Our American horses are being butchered in Mexico and Canada,

And 700 wolves have already been shot down from Alaska’s skies.

Permits are also being drawn up to also allow aerial wolf hunting

All around our national parks, including Yellowstone National Park,

One of the very last refuges the grey wolf has left in North America.
