Poem Artwork
-->

“Eye of newt, and toe of frog,

Wool of bat, and tongue of dog,

Adder’s fork, and blind-worm’s sting,

Lizard’s leg, and owlet’s wing;

For a charm of powerful trouble,

Like a hell broth – boil and bubble!”

William Shakespeare

Our time of year now draws near,

The time of year you people fear.

We crave your bounty, we want to dine,

How tasty, how lovely, how so divine.

We will feast, and be merry, and eat our fill,

We will suck, and cipher, and create a chill.

We will follow you home, or hover silently nearby,

We will creep and slither, and we will make you cry.

We vow to terrorize, plunder, and race through the night,

We will savor each and every moment with devilish delight.

We will peer into your windows, as we rattle your old doors,

Since our appetites are insatiable, and we always crave more.

Our unquenchable desires must be fulfilled, this holiest of days,

Every one of you people must comply, or there will be hell to pay.

So on Hallow’s Eve, you must remember our cravings, and our lust,

And you better dwell on our hideous capabilities, on them you can trust.

We’re unstoppable, we will be victorious, and we will be arriving very soon,

And we will march towards you whether cold, stormy, warm, or a full moon.

So whatever you plan on doing to prepare, don’t pretend you’re not home,

For then, there will be absolutely nowhere on earth, you will be safe to roam.

So, just relax, and sit by your front door, in a most comfortable seat,

And keep dishing out those goodies, when we yell, “Trick or Treat!”

And Get The Good Candy,

Not That Cheap Stuff;

Or We Will Be Back,

And Things Could Get Ruff

A very eerily spooky photograph fit for the occasion! Okay! I am ready with all the goodies and treats, but if you try any tricks I will cast a spell you will never, ever outlive.....

Be safe,
Karen

You're welcome at my house. There's plenty of good stuff - Butterfingers, M/M's - plain and peanut, Snickers, Sweet Tarts and bubble gum. But, I may have to go buy more, husband's been into the treats.

let the monsters and ghost knock on my door

Well written, Ed; oh, to go back to those carefree days when kids could be kids and not worry about the creeps and sickos out there to ruin their fun; sad!

And if all of you can keep it quite, remember I am very old and cavorted with the maidens too much too soon (because "living" in Europe my times are confused by jet-lag and englishmen without teeth) I will be in my comfortable coffin away from the sun light or any light (Rufuz, tell my brother not to light his joint near me)and maybe, maybe I will come up for a snak...or two.

Little monsters. And witches and ghosts and pirates and princesses and ... I promise. Will be home!

Sad, now, though...if you don't give good candy, or enough of it, these demons of the night will get nasty about it!

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
