- Another Computer Bites The Dust -

“A dwarfish imp inhabiting the interior parts of the earth,

And having very special powers.

These Gnomes were common enough in the 1700s,

And many saw them scampering on the hills in the evening twilight.”

Ambrose Bierce

I should have known better

Than to mess with my wily wife

She didn’t like my gnome warnings

She has now caused me much strife

While I was out walking in the woods

She let a gnome sit at my computer desk

And this creature has caused me much grief

He’s turned out to be a real devilish little pest

This gnome somehow crashed my computer

I could no longer get it to work correctly at all

I disgustedly soon found myself driving to town

I now had to buy a brand new computer at the mall

And on my way back home from my very long, exasperating trip

I drove this devil of a gnome out to the woods, and I left him there

I know many still don’t believe me about these very fiendish creatures

But I’m telling you, of these cunning little lawn ornaments –BEWARE

And I have a feeling that I haven’t seen the last of this mooning gnome,

But I’ve got a surprise waiting for him, when this devil sneaks back home.

Gnome news - thank you for the update. Just bought a new computer and will make sure they add whatever software is required to keep it from destroying the computer. I haven't seen gnomes in our area, so I think I'm pretty safe, but you never know. lol

Gnome roaming with a virus. That's not a good thing. He;s spreading that butt shine everywhere.
G;ad you have your new pc up. I'd get me some barbed wire and encase my whole area in it.

Nooooooooo... tell us more, Dad. A mooning Gnome... whatever next. We have big-breasted ones in these parts - down by the harbour's edge in a little enclave which exists in No Man's Land between the shoreline and the oilfield's perimeter fencing. Think they have been genetically modified or been fed too many Magic Mushrooms... Is that wot you bin collecting down in them woods? Now Rebecca is in for an even BIGGER surprise... Ed with two heads! Intriguing... And I like the new biog pic... makes you look kind of dishy... chicken and liver for the kitty behind... Yep, I'm home. And Mauritius is still intact, I think... Love, Nomad Kate xx

I have to say that Georg has the right idea for these pesky little lawn ornaments! I knew when I saw the Roaming Gnome for Expedia they were up to no good. Thank goodness I haven't bought any!

Brilliant! I like your writes and your Gnomes, too. Funny piece of poetry with a slight discomfort laced within it as you have lost your computer and the Gnome which had broken the first one has found its way back home. Dreadful

Mr. Ed,
Sir, I don't know if you realize this...but there was a play written about Gnomes a long time ago. The title of the play is "The Gnomes from Nome" Go ahead, google it, see what you come up with on your new 'puter

And no, it is not true that they are thinking of using Gnomes to hold the football in place for kick-off at Autzen Stadium, where the Oregon Ducks (number 3 in the latest polls.)

yours unsincerely,
Gnarley Gnome

ED... they may pre-date 1700's --- it is said that...

NERO fiddled while GNOME burnt... and, it's a well-known fact that they were nomads...

song lyrics: "GNOME, GNOME on the range, where the deer and the antelope roam..."

One just visited me yesterday. On my day off, decided to re-arrange my living room furniture. When all done, after plugging my APPLE laptop back in, the GREEN power lite changed to ORANGE = NOT charging! Went out and shot pool, got home 1 am, and .....
LO & BEHOLD --- GREEN lite magically back!

HE must have been just resting a tad?

OH - nice PIC - did MATLACK pose for it?
