We Must All Continue To Fight The Good Fight,
Even in One’s Backyard, The World Can Be Cruel
Sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of three very good friends,
Who thought this heat wave was much too hot,
And that it would never end,
It just would not end.
Old Tubby soon had a grand idea,
He purchased a kiddy pool,
He found it at a garage sale,
And it was very cool,
It was oh so cool.
He filled it full of icy cold water,
And these three friends took off,
Now they were bold explorers,
And let the neighbors scoff,
Let those nasty neighbors scoff.
Tater manned the crow’s nest,
Tubby was the ship’s brave diver,
Turbo was the trustworthy Skipper,
And he was a very good driver,
He was such a very good driver.
But the lady in Thornwood Manor started gettin rough,
And this tiny kiddy pool, unbelievably, she tried to toss.
If not for the courage of these fearless friends,
This kiddy pool would have been lost,
This kiddy pool would have been lost.
But these three friends stood very firm,
On the shores of their ship’s backyard,
And now they won’t abandon their pool,
Even though the lady’s screamin real hard,
Man, she’s screamin real, real hard.
This is the epic tale of our castaways,
They're now here for a long, long time,
They’ve vowed to make the best of things,
But it's a real uphill climb,
It’s gonna be a real uphill climb.
No food, no beer, no doggie treats,
Not even a single luxury,
Like good old Robinson Crusoe,
This kiddy pool’s as primitive as can be,
It’s as primitive as can be.
And What Will That Lady Do,
Just What Will That Lady Do?
I sure hope she takes a nap soon,
So I can sneak inside for a brew.
And some Milkbones, for my crew,
And some Milkbones, for my crew.
And, this epic battle might last,
Until the entire summer is through,
Until the long hot summer is through.
(But We Ain’t Givin Up Our Pool!)
