Before our government listed Polar Bears as ‘Threatened’
And now, less than a month after finally taking some action
Our leaders are already helping to hasten their horrendous end
Our so called ‘leaders’ have already created a gigantic loophole
In which oil companies can ‘annoy and harm them in pursuit of oil’
God forbid one of the truly endangered animal species on this planet
Gets in the way of their ever increasing billion dollar profits and spoils
And even more ludicrous is that statistics contained in many government reports
Indicate the amount of oil off Alaska’s shores won’t even dent foreign dependency
After we decimate the landscape and kill even more endangered polar bears in Alaska
We will recover only about 5 percent of the oil we need to fuel our American economy
Instead of pursuing alternative fuel technology, which would aid our planet’s dire future
Our so called leaders remain arrogantly blind, and rush to yet another short term solution
It is truly time in our nation to look for new leadership, which cares for our planet’s health
Or one horrible day, our own offspring will awaken to a nation where nearly all life is done
At peak production, about 1 million barrels a day — only about 5 percent of current U.S. daily consumption — will flow down the new Alaskan pipelines, but this won’t even be a sustained amount.
Assessments by both the Energy Department and the Geological Survey suggest peak flow will probably be limited to three to five years, with much lesser amounts being pumped, much longer.
And What Will Be The True Cost,
Of This Short Sighted ‘Non-Solution,’
To Both Our Own Future Generations,
And To Other Life Forms On This Planet?
Our So Called ‘Leaders’ Have Been Giving Only Limited Lip Service,
To Already Existing Alternate Fuel Technology, For Far Too Many Years;
How Much Destruction, and How Many Species Will They Help To Annihilate,
How Much Of Our Beautiful Land Will Be Gone Before We All Shed Some Tears?

That's where systems like wind turbines would work best, to electrolyze water to store hydrogen to burn to get more water. Ahh, but they lose some energy in the process of getting hydrogen. I wonder if any energy was lost making fossil fuels? Maybe we'll know when we move on to burning bear fat, and then human fat in the Obesity Relief Program. I almost forgot, I would vote "fools" when it comes to the ideas so far presented if I may be so kind as to call them ideas. And here some would think I was the fool with my comments. Maybe they should start havesting sperm and embrios from what animal, and bird, species are left...don't think the creatures of the deep will be affected..
