I'm wondering with the Midwest flooding, whether this Zone can spread around Florida with the GulfStream and into the ATlantic? Any opinion on that. The Native Americans predict that sometime this century the Midwest will become an inland sea from flooding. I think I heard that, did you? Anyway a deadly reality. After HUR Floyd in '99, there was a tremendous DEAD zone off of Cape Hat. for months, and massive fish kills. Somehow we just keep ignoring this. I don't because I'm a saltwater fisherman. It's a wonder any Marine Life survives our toxins...Perhaps your poems will raise awareness. You like a journalist with your facts. Keep them coming.

Yes, I remember reading about that dead zone in the early 70's, our generation cared then, but what has happened ? Nothing to stop the spread of these dead zones...Is the movie Soilent Green (sp) ring a bell? Can we become so ignorant that we destroy the very thing that keeps humans alive? What is going on? I blame the government for not being on top of any of this. The scientists, and lawmakers must work together and they don't. What will change? In the next 50 years? It's a scary prospect isn't it.

YIKES!!! This is like political and environmental gangrene... Why are such things not being addressed? We can all be pots calling the kettle black, but no wonder America is courting enemies in the global community as it acclerates us towards catastrophic disaster.

Ed, as a penance and some bloody use to the world, can't you get all your barmy political sheisters to go out and pollinate by hand all these crops, since the bees will soon all be gone too? The worm has got to turn... and not wriggle in its lying pants about these issues.

Ed, I truly appreciate your poems that bring us up-todate on environmental conditions that effect all life on our planet. You share information that all of us should be aware of. Is there a solution to this problem? Farmers have to farm if people are to eat. Some religious groups talk about "the end of time". Is that the inevitable solution to all the problems man is unleashing in this old world?

Very sad but you have a way of educating us. If all would hear your words Ed maybe it could make a difference. Thank you for sharing.

Toxic runoff is a problem that recieves very little attention.
I personally, try not to eat oysters from Apalachicola Bay anymore, just because of this.

Oh my Gosh,,, This is sickening,,, and I have wittnessed the fish dying out in west Gulf Coast,,, as my brother worked on a deep sea fishing boat out of Naples,,, this breaks my heart,, you need to publish all your information,, word needs to get out.
