Once again reporting in from the field,

From Mark Twain’s childhood home town;

He didn’t have much use for politicians either,

Far too many of them are truly imbecilic clowns.

Over one hundred million dollars was spent on both conventions

This money was very eagerly provided, by special interest groups

Hoping to lead our leaders, down the same old roads they prefer

Hoping to convince our leaders – we the people, they must dupe

And now, both political parties are advocating ‘change’

While most politicians, really hope things remain ‘the same’

And four years from now, at their next very lavish productions

As they always do, they’ll proclaim – ‘someone else is to blame’

And Jon Stewart may be getting my write-in vote

Just for highlighting all of this political hypocrisy

How dumb do politicians & pundits think we are?

Just watch this video, and it will be very plain to see

At least with Stewart in the White House

We’d at least get a few laughs, every day

Something that we could surely use now

In a nation that is in such dire straits today
