While all eyes are focused on Wall Street
Our extremely generous leaders in D.C.
Just handed the auto industry $25 Billion
They say they need to ‘study’ car batteries
Meanwhile, three major Japanese auto makers
Are already ‘in production’ with their electric line
Their brand new ‘all-electric’ cars debut in 2010
The Japanese batteries for their cars, are just fine
In fact, the major supermarket chains over in Japan
Are already installing ‘charging ports’ for their customers
Shoppers will be able to charge their cars while shopping
And we are just starting to study batteries – how absurd
Our nation every day now falls further behind
In the production and use of alternative energy
Yet, this election’s slogan is ‘Drill, Baby, Drill’
Because our leaders won’t get off our oil economy
Government leaders in many nations including Ireland
Have already finalized plans for wind turbine energy
Germany and Spain are already perfecting solar power
And we in the U.S. still focus on saving pennies on gasoline
Denmark has been leading the world in alternative energy
Ever since that abysmal OPEC Oil Embargo, way back in 1973
Yet, we continue to allow our leaders to lead us down ‘the oil road’
We are an extremely gullible nation, which should not fill us with glee
We now lose more prestige as a world leader, each and every day
Because we no longer demand, that our politicians are accountable
Handing over billions of tax-payer dollars, for incompetence and greed
Falling further and further behind in alternative energy – is a bunch of bull
Think Very Wisely, Before You Vote For Anyone, This Election Day;
We Have to Start Electing Leaders, Who Actually Believe In a Better Way.

To Mislead,
To Confuse,
And To Keep The Public Eye,
From The Most Important Issues of the Day.”

But never doubt the ability of a "redneck" to genuflect to his own stupidity! They can never be wrong(?)... I hope they'll have to sell their fancy pickups soon...Meanwhile America marches down the wrong road... We've had fine working hybrids courtesy of Japanese companies for years. Nothing wrong with those batteries!

is the best conclusion to the mess. But the American people are very resourceful, though "we are an extremely gullible nation"- is something you have to get over with, because it will get worse before it gets better.
