Joining the Ranks

Of The Illustrious Old Jersey Devil,

And The Legendary Santa – Biker, Mr. Fee.

“When I was a kid,

My favorite relative,

Was Uncle Caveman.”

Jack Handy

I’m not someone who likes to brag

But since others in A.D. started to

Mean Tall Woman has now insisted

That I tell you about this issue of GQ

We have now reached a point in society

Where ‘Getting Back to Basics’ is good

So, we Cavemen are finally back ‘in style’

And our lifestyle’s being copied, as it should

The Best of ‘The Basic Life’ can be found in a cave

There is little maintenance, and no mortgage, or upkeep

The dirt and the mud and the rock walls found in my home

Never need to be painted, and my wife doesn’t need to sweep

And with the immense variety of subterranean life found here

We never go hungry, and we dig out some delectable mushrooms

Our pit fireplace is very economical, and our pit bathroom is a gas

And man, you would not believe the immense size of our living room

Without telling me about it, my wife sent my caveman story to GQ

And it got extremely crowded here in our home during the photo shoot

But you should really check out this issue, and read all about our lifestyle

My tux may be old and covered with cave dust, but it is a sexy Baby Blue!

And pets seem to enjoy the Caveman lifestyle, too;

All of our many dogs and cats, think it’s very cool.

Ed, your humor is contagious while at the same time supporting a theory about the good of yesteryears. I join the thought processes of your dogs and cats--I think it's cool, too.

Well I just watched a History channel DVD on 10,000 B.C. and if like the "Younger Dryas" climate change period, we experience a cessation of trans Atlantic currents by addition of too much freshwater to the sea... Well, we'd be better off in caves believe me! I'm not sure if I'll wear the Tux or not - I hope they retain heat better than my Florida house!

With the gas price being so high, and the downfall of the economy. I think caveman will sure gets his spot in the society soon. As you say - no floor to sweep, no mortgage to pay? - Hhhhmmmm...well, I hope the government would not cry "land taxes". They will get you one way or another.

But this is interesting write, I really wouldn't mind going back to the caveman's era. Heeeheee!!!

Where do you hang your carcuses? [Carci?] So many questions, so little time. Man, you are good at this stuff! Love the way you use rhyme!! Never c a v e s in!:) Now go down to the crick an' wash 'at spot off yer tux!!

No electricity, no dirt you see, mean tall woman so happy she must be. I suppose, you Ego nut going it reroute that gas in the pit to the cooking stove right, just watch out being in the dark, you yourself might grow some tender filigrees, what about the bats? and all them bones in the far corner? Ah well, nothing is perfect, you funny man! Jasmin Horst

We all better learn how to live like caveman as this economy is not well. But if we find a nice cave, the government will charge us rent, tax and sur charge and then fine us for violations of, open fires, un-safe housing and everything else! Love the photo and writing.
