Snowy Mornin Delight

“The aging process

Has you firmly in its grasp,

If you never get the urge,

To throw a snowball.”

Doug Larson

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It surely must have snowed here all night

As my dogs and I stepped outside at dawn

We were greeted by a snowy mornin delight

I suddenly felt just like a young child again

As I had on so many snowy childhood morns

And all of my dogs pranced around like pups

In this snowy mornin delight, we were re-born

As they all began excitedly racing all around

I soon began constructing a gigantic snowman

When my wife soon came out to see the snow

She too thought this snowy mornin was grand

And soon, that child inside me peeked out

And he quickly pelted her with a snowball

Of course, she soon retaliated with her own

And now, it was a snowy mornin free-for-all

Dogs never sit out any type of game

So they very quickly pounced on me

As my wife laughed and roared at us

The child in my soul was filled with glee

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas,

It surely must have snowed here all night:

As my dogs and I stepped outside at dawn,

We were greeted by a snowy mornin delight.

Well, I couldn't have a decent snow-balls fight around here, no snow and if it were, a kind of London pea soup of a fog that don't let you to see the tip of the nose! We envy you.

I KNOW Rufuz would LOVE to have snow come, but yesterday all it did was rain, AGAIN...nothing frozen even...living too close to the ocean & its warmer temps keeps frozen precipitation to our west...oh well, thanks for the imagery of a fun sounding morning...Ed & Rufuz

What a light, airy, friendly, playful poem. I could just picture the images of you, your wife, and dogs gleefully playing in the snow.
