A Story Shared With Me By

A.D.’s Jasmin Horst Seiler,

About a Compassionate Dog,

Who Knows All About Fear.

“If I have any beliefs at all about immortality,

It is that certain dogs I know will go to Heaven,

And very, very few people will.”

James Thurber

Music: Angels Among Us

She was found malnourished and so terrified

Clearly another victim of some human’s abuse

The police quickly took her to a wildlife sanctuary

Hoping kind hearted staff there could end her blues

It took several weeks for Jasmine to regain her trust

But once she did, she assumed, a new mission in life

These days, she's the Surrogate Mum, at this sanctuary

Her role, to welcome other animals, and relieve their strife

It doesn’t matter if the newest arrival is a puppy, or a fox

A rabbit, or an injured owl, or even, a frightened baby deer

Jasmine, Surrogate Mum, at Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary

Takes them all under her wing, and so lovingly removes their fear

The list of orphaned and abandoned creatures

That Jasmine has cared for so far, include:

Five fox cubs, four badger cubs, 15 chicks,

Eight guinea pigs, two stray puppies, 15 rabbits,

An owl, and a tiny frightened, orphaned, roe deer.

Jasmine, the once abused and deserted Greyhound,

Is a wondrous compassionate role model, for us all.

Pictured Above From Left to Right:

Toby, a stray dog; Bramble, the orphaned deer;

Buster, an abandoned dog; Peg, a dumped rabbit;

Snowy, an injured owl; and their new Mum, Jasmine.

Jasmine is a wonderful dog. She looks just like my son's Patty Cakes, Grey hounds are the most docile and beautiful breeds of dogs. Patty Cakes is a retired greyhound that they rescued three years ago. She is a very special dog just like Jasmine...
I love your poems, Ed, they are always so full of information and heartwarming feelings.

Sometimes animals show better and nobler affection than most human beings, and we can all learn from them how to care for the young.
This is where most humans fail miserably. Thanks, I love the photo and the story of Jasmine.

As nobody can prove the contrary I will tell Jasmin Horst Seiler that yes, the fauna creatures have a soul, God wouldn't have it different.
Man compassionate? maybe, but we have seen many animals taking care of their "natural enemies" with a compassion we only bestow to "humans".

Oh Ed this is too precious, too bad most humans don't have half the compassion and yes all animals will go to heave while the majority of Humans will stay in limbo. Thank you for sharing and that pic is adorable.

The question I asked, do animals have souls, wherefrom springs such humanity? yes supposed humanity, but I'm afraid many humans today don't fit that bill that coined this word, many creatures though have it without being human, I would think, that, would make them a higher species than us, never mind the brain, it's soul I am talking about.
