June is ‘Adopt A Cat Month’
So many right now, need a home
Cats, to me and Twain, are marvelous
And to Cats, I’ve written many a poem
One of my most cherished cats, Buddy
Miraculously appeared, on my dog’s grave
He taught me the numerous merits of felines
Who are just as loving as dogs, and also brave
Fat Louie was living along an isolated lakeshore
Old Montgomery Outback, why, he adopted me
Valentina, who was all alone, at a deserted factory
And our little Flower, who found me, in New Orleans
Our latest addition, Sweetie, was also alone in the world
She gave birth, to five wondrous kittens, on Mother’s Day
Soon, like so many other kittens at animal shelters, right now
Her children will be hoping to find homes where they can play
Cats come in so many shapes, sizes, colors, and personalities
Life now, without some felines, would be most dreadful, for me
Please consider visiting an animal shelter this ‘Adopt A Cat Month’
For Cats, just like Dogs, can truly fill one’s heart and soul, with glee
