What has become of the human race
What are we teaching our offspring, today
Teenagers abducted a puppy from his home
And they beat and they tortured him, relentlessly
They used an old sledgehammer, a rock, and a beer bottle
They beat this innocent young puppy so fiercely, he lost an eye
What in God’s name are today’s parents teaching America’s children
Like Schweitzer, I believe cruelty is learned; this should make us all cry
Miraculously, this innocent young Labrador mix puppy somehow survived,
Sustaining skull fractures, numerous cuts, a broken leg, and a horrendous eye injury.
And unable to afford the puppy's extensive medical care,
His owner very sadly surrendered him to an animal shelter,
Where this severely abused puppy was re-named ‘Justice.’
But Justice and the shelter where he had been taken still needed help.
His ghastly injuries required medical care that went far beyond
What this shelter could afford on its tiny shoestring budget.
That's when The American Humane Society stepped in.
This organization provided vital support through their Second Chance® Fund,
A grant program for animal shelters that provides medical care to treat animals
Like this dog, who suffer from life threatening injuries resulting from abuse.
Although the veterinarian was unable to save Justice's eye,
This courageous little mutt otherwise made a full recovery.
No animal deserves to be treated this brutally by human beings,
Please support organizations like the American Humane Society;
And please teach your own children to respect and honor, all life,
Our modern youngsters today are learning far too much cruelty

I am so heart sick over this. I just went to the website to see this poor dog that you were talking about. My heart aches for his pain. Poor little thing, I feel so bad for him. He didn't deserve such cruelty, it is a very sad society that we are living in..What in God's name possesses someone (children at that) to think of such horror never mind doing it. I am weeping for justice for Justice!!!!
