There are three types of cat trappers
In this very vast nation of ours, today
It’s why I keep all of my cats - indoors
The first two types disgust, in many ways
The first type of trapper is a government employee
Told to rid a town or a city of its free roaming cats
He or she may also be a hired, private contractor
And this type of trapper, kills them, just like that
Unless your cat is micro-chipped or wears a tag
It will very sadly be listed as a ‘Feral’ or a ‘Stray’
Most municipalities don’t take the time or the effort
To track down any free roaming cat owners, today
The second type of cat trapper today, is even worse
They trap our free roaming cats, for ‘dog fighting bait’
Many dog fighters train their animals, by using felines
And being savagely mauled to death, will be their fate
I, myself, participate in the third type of trapping
It is called TNR – trap, neuter, and then, return
We TNR trappers hope to reduce cat populations
For a day that every cat has a good home, we yearn
Far too many cat owners today, let them roam
And, they refuse to get them neutered or spayed
As a result, far too many unwanted felines are born
Who starve, are killed, or sold to dog fighters, each day
If you love felines, as I do, and want to protect them
Keep yours indoors, and have them neutered or spayed
And, please be wary of the first two types of cat trappers
Free roaming cats face very many man-made dangers, today

It is also very entertaining watching them try to get the chipmunks
They haven't had any luck, no chipmunks at my bird feeder when the cats are around :)
