“Just hear those sleigh bells jingling,
And a ring ting tingling, too;
Come on, it's lovely weather,
For a sleigh ride together with you.”
Mitchell Parish,
Sleigh Ride
When my spouse and I first met
I took her on a sleigh ride, for two
Now, as each & every Christmas arrives
It’s still something that we look forward to
I now wait for a lovely, snowy, December morn
And then I wake her, at the very crack of dawn
Soon, we’re heading north, down a country lane
As I joyously belt out Sleigh Ride, and she yawns
Our first stop now is a quaint old country restaurant
Where we enjoy some fresh bakery and a pot of coffee
Then we head over to an old fashioned Christmas shop
Where buying a Christmas memento, fills her with glee
And soon, it’s on to a delightful old Christmas Tree Farm
Where the land owner still offers old fashioned sleigh rides
There is nothing quite like a ride through the snowy woods
Aboard a sleigh pulled by two prancing horses filled with pride
And although my wife usually grumbles, when I wake her up so early
She’s always laughing and smiling, as the horses trot on through the woods
Since we both miss those nostalgic good old fashioned Holidays of so long ago
Our yearly, old fashioned, snowy December sleigh ride makes us both feel good
Hear those sleigh bells jingling,
And a ring ting tingling too;
Come on, it's lovely, snowy weather,
For a sleigh ride, together, with you.

OH I'd love to go on a sleigh ride. 'Course, in Texas, no snow, so would be a very bumpy ride. *sigh* Oh, well, can dream, can't I? Merry Christmas to you, your wife, and the critters. :) Beautiful write, indeed.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
GOD BLESS
