I arise very early, as always
To the kitchen window I go
As I drink my cup of coffee
I’m joined by good old Turbo
He and I survey Christmas
Through a frosty window
Soon, we spot two rabbits
Sitting out there in the snow
And soon, my other dogs join us
Now, we all head out into the snow
I wonder if they know it’s Christmas
As I gaze at our Christmas lights aglow
It’s a cold, snowy, peaceful, Christmas morn
I soon head to the garage, for some bird seed
I chuckle, as I see the tiny mouse waiting there
I toss him some food, which he chews with glee
As I gaze up into one of our upstairs windows
I see our old diabetic cat, Monty, sitting there
He’s so very patiently waiting for his insulin shot
Now, I hear the Christmas song of birds in the air
I fill all of our bird feeders, for their Christmas Day meal
And I gather from the shed, my Christmas gifts for my wife
I spot her holding a kitten, and smiling in the bedroom window
I wave and I smile back, and I’m extremely thankful for this life
