“Life is life's greatest gift.
Guard the life of another creature,
As you would your own,
Because it is your own.”
Lloyd Biggle, Jr.
We call ourselves compassionate
We like to say we’re, ‘Christians’
But, in this horrific world of ours
Images like that above, never end
Yet one more, among far too many
Starved, abused, and then tossed
Forced to scavenge in a dumpster
Plagued by parasites and hair loss
And the majority of people passing
Barely gave a thought to her plight
What is one more starving creature
Wandering so forlornly in the night
Luckily for her, one Good Samaritan
Finally contacted someone who cared
She is now receiving medical treatment
Hopefully, she’ll regain her health and hair
You probably cannot tell by her picture
Her ancestors, were revered by humanity
This forgotten being is a Yorkshire Terrier
Once loved by both working men & royalty
And, it wouldn’t surprise me, one bit
If she’d been purchased at a pet store
But when her owners grew tired of her
They just simply kicked her out the door
We call ourselves compassionate,
We like to say we’re, ‘Christians;’
But today, in this horrendous world,
Images like the one above, never end.
I thought I had seen the worst,
Of massive Pet Abandonment,
After Hurricane Katrina,
But I was very sadly, wrong.

May the fleas of a thousand camels FEAST on all those heartless bastards that abandon God's innocent creatures.
Peace - Tom.
Maybe Dog owners should need a license for each pet. And be vetted for suitability.
Be always safe,
