“Spring is nature's way of saying,

Let's Party!”

Robin Williams

It had been an extremely long winter

But now, the temperature hit 50 degrees

My dogs and I, were all now really happy

In the air, a really lovely warm spring breeze

The snow had seemed to evaporate, overnight

Our resident robins, were now singing, all about

The squirrels were teasing my dogs, with delight

I knew before long, spring flowers would sprout

I headed off to the garage, to do spring chores

When good old Tater, dragged out the dog pool

He now insisted, that I start filling it up, really fast

He had decided a spring party, would be pretty cool

And soon, all the party animals, came a running

Misty was the first one, to joyously jump right in

Soon came Tater, Little Jack, and good old Turbo

Their Backyard Spring Festival was about to begin

And before I even had the old pool completely filled

One of these party animals knocked me into the pool

I yelped, but I soon began splish-splashing around too

My wife yelled from the door, “You Are Such a Fool!”

“Maybe so, but this little Spring Festival is pretty cool;

Hey! Can you bring me out a nice, ice-cold, beer?”

But I knew I’d have to go inside, and get it myself

She just somehow knew I’d push her in, too, I fear

Splish Splash, Splish Splash,

Spring Festivals Are a Blast.

(The Cold Beer and Milkbones Weren’t Bad Either.)

What a better time to celebrate than happy spring ... a party seems perfect to welcome the season and all its joys ... sounds like a fun-filled day. ~Elizabeth
