Just Returned From A Needed Get-A-Way,

Music: After The Sunrise
My favorite time of the day
On a remote wilderness lake
Is the time, just before dawn
Just as Creation comes awake
I perch out there, in my fishing boat
Waiting very silently, in anticipation
My dogs appreciate this moment, too
Their canine ears, in eager expectation
Soon, the sun begins to peek over the treetops
Now, we can glimpse their branches, on the shore
And very soon, the silence is pierced by an eerie call
A loon greets daybreak, as he’s done many times before
As the three of us marvel in renewed awe and admiration
The loon’s mate so very joyously returns her love’s call
Then a fish breaks the surface, chasing after his breakfast
While all the songbirds begin singing, at the wonder of it all
Before very long now, we spot a mother osprey leave her nest
While a mother raccoon leads her little ones, down to the shore
The osprey dives in for a fish, as the newborn raccoons take a drink
And as the lake now comes to life, I always appreciate life, a little more
My favorite time of the day,
