-A Story That Touched My Heart-

“The smallest feline,

Is a masterpiece.”

Leonardo da Vinci

I have rescued many kittens

But never one from a chimney

Firefighters saved this one’s life

And she has been named ‘Ashley’

A landlord had been inspecting his rental property

When he heard several anguished cries for help inside

Animal Services discovered a tiny kitten in his chimney

But they couldn’t free her, no matter how hard they tried

Several very compassionate firefighters soon arrived at the scene

They broke down the chimney wall, which held this kitten in place

She was only a few months old, and had barely escaped suffocation

Thick grey ash completely covered her entire body, and her furry face

Her valiant rescuers soon transported her over to the Humane Society

Where staff members gave her several baths to remove all of the ash

This cutie has now been spayed, and vaccinated, and micro-chipped

Truly adorable, eager to be adopted, and freed from her prison, at last

I have rescued many kittens,

But never one from a chimney;

Firefighters saved this one’s life,

And she has been named ‘Ashley.’

Each and every feline and tiny kitten,

Is indeed, a truly unique masterpiece;

And, each and every one I have rescued,

Has brought so much love and joy, to me.

I’ve rescued them from parking lots and rooftops,

From dark alleys, dumpsters, and crawl spaces;

And like little Ashley, all of these newborn kittens,

Have touched my heart with their tiny, furry faces.

Each and every Spring, is also ‘Kitten Season,’

There are so many out there, in need of a home;

Please consider adopting one from a local shelter,

And allow a tiny masterpiece into your heart to roam.
