A News Item That Caught My Eye,

Involving A Tiny Newborn Creature;

I Believe That All Of Life Is Sacred,

Regardless Of Any ‘Special Feature.’

“Believe that all life

Is worth living,

And your belief,

Will help create the fact.”

William James

Music: I Hope You Dance

A tiny, newborn, painted turtle

Was just rescued, in a parking lot

Discovered, on ‘End of World Day’

Unusual markings on its shell it has got

The woman who found this turtle, helpless on its back

Believes that its markings portray Virgin Mary’s image

She thinks this to be a sign, May 21st was not ‘Doomsday’

On the so called ‘Day of Rapture,’ she took this as a message

I, for one, doubt its unusual markings have any world-wide significance

But I’m happy for tiny ‘Holy Turtle’ since it was not left to die, in that lot

It was immediately given help, and refuge, and a compassionate new home

The way that we look should be meaningless, but to ‘Holy Turtle’ it was not

Believe that all life,

Is holy and sacred;

And this belief,

Will create this fact.

If we see any of our neighbors,

In dire need of our assistance,

Regardless of any ‘special features,’

I, for one, hope that we will still act.

Dearest, Mr. Ed, Reading your tribute,
reminiscent events of a ~Native American Blessing~
I truly thank you for the wake up reminder...Lady Vivian

Ed,

You are so right, all life is sacred, This could have been about my son. He found a three day old desert tortoise in an alley. He took it home, he's now three years old, and is huge. I won't say his markings are 'holy', and the Virgin Mary isn't on his back but the markings are beautiful and so is he.

Hard to tell how many lives you have saved with your frequent messages, Ed, or how many people you have influenced into doing more toward that end. Nicely done. Thanks Dick
