It’s not bad enough, that our pollution is now killing them
We now resort to murdering them, with our rifles and guns
As we have so greedily over-fished, most of Earth’s oceans
The Battle of Man vs. Animal for Remaining Fish, has begun
We humans are already rationalizing that it’s their fault, not ours
What possible rights could they possibly have to devour ‘our fish’
Many of we human beings, in our dying world, these horrific days
Have already developed a callous, life-ending, ‘Animal Death Wish’
Several murdered dolphins have washed up on California’s beaches
And recently, six adult grey seals, found shot to death, on Cape Cod
Surely, our human right to Earth’s remaining fish, far outweighs theirs
As we now fight for what’s left, killing Earth’s mammals, no longer odd
Today, many of our ‘leaders’ proudly advocate gunning down wolves from the sky
We also now round up and murder wild horses and wild bison, for eating ‘our grass’
And now, even the marine mammals, which many had once admired and respected
Are being gunned down, in a world that we are now destroying, so god-damned fast
I am already hearing the very same lame rationalizations about bears and birds of prey;
“We simply cannot allow them to keep on consuming ‘our dwindling resources’ today.”
After we bring all of these animal competitors to their end,
I now so very sadly wonder who or what we will blame then.
And if you still don't believe that Earth’s fish are now in decline,
Do some research on our grocery store ‘fresh fish’ labeling today;
What you believe to be Pacific Salmon, or perhaps even Red Snapper,
May be something far different; yet for pricey vanishing fish, you will pay.

signs of desperation, a no-way-back signal.
