Conservationists want at least a 20-Year Mining Ban
Huge Mining Corporations want all Mining Bans to End
Just like Offshore Oil Drilling, many politicians shout ‘End The Ban!’
So pompously proclaiming, Uranium Mining will reduce energy costs
But just like Offshore Oil Drilling, these mining companies are Foreign
Mining profits for Canada, Russia, and South Korea, will be our great loss
A new study has just been released about leaking old pipes at our nuclear reactors
Of course, the same politicians say: ‘Don’t worry about all that leaking Tritium.’
But numerous scientists claim this Tritium is already seeping into our drinking water
Do we really want our Grand Canyon’s water to be filled with foreign mining Uranium
I for one seriously doubt ‘Cheap Energy’ will arrive from Oil Drilling, or from Mining
All we are doing these days, is decimating our national treasures, for foreign companies
Only 300,000 Americans have agreed and have told our leaders to ‘Save Grand Canyon’
If you agree, you should voice your opinion, and send it to our nation’s Interior Secretary
Our nation’s Grand Canyon still attracts more than 4 million visitors a year,
And today, hunting, fishing, tourism, sight-seeing, and outdoor recreation
Around Grand Canyon generate an estimated $3.5 billion in economic activity.
Millions of American citizens now residing in cities like Phoenix and Los Angeles
Rely on the Colorado River, and this magnificent canyon, for clean drinking water.
And, to many Native American tribes, the Grand Canyon is still a sacred place,
Their ancient history and their culture, woven throughout its wondrous landscape.
We must now decide if we want to preserve it for future generations,
Or hand it over to foreign mining corporations to be decimated, forever.
The Choice is Ours.
Will National Apathy Prevail,
Or Will Many More Americans,
Now Finally Listen To Their Hearts.
