We recently had a fund raiser
For our Orphans of The Street
We had a very satisfying turnout
Fellow animal lovers we did meet
Every day, brings yet another orphan
Far too many, abused by we humans
These orphans, exist everywhere today
Their sad suffering, does not seem to end
The orphans pictured here, all such gentle souls
All left behind, abandoned, and tortured, by man
Giving them a second chance, at a life worth living
One orphan at a time, with help from others, our plan
Chula, and several others, abused by vicious dog fighters
Then dumped on the streets, because they would not fight
Dogs like Izzy, left behind by his family, in a foreclosed house
Others like Opie, found wandering and starving, in the cold night
I discovered Marty, a very sweet old dog, on a sub-zero, winter’s day
He was eating garbage, and a heavy iron chain was weighing him down
I was determined to give this deserving canine, a second chance at a life
Today I’m extremely happy, a loving new home for Marty has been found
Please consider joining a rescue group in your area,
That is attempting to help your orphans of the street;
There are so many of them now, all across this nation,
Hoping for help, waiting for some kind friends to meet.

was a success, Ed, but i know there's an awful long way
to go and you, brave man, will never give up; i wish i
could join you, honestly i do, but i do my little bit
for the spca in this neck of the woods, it's not much
but it's something.
