“Hope is the expectation
That something, or someone,
Is going to come to our rescue,
And we’ll live happily ever after.”
Robert Anthony
Music: Rescue Me
Yet Another Homeless, Hopeless Dog
Wandering the Streets, These Dog Days
Starving, Dehydrated, Forlorn, All Alone
Collapsing from Heat Stroke in an Alleyway
Luckily, a Very Compassionate Man Eventually Spots Him
A True Hero, Who Fights Fires, Helping Society, Every Day
I Get a Call, and I Soon Head Over To Meet This Needy Dog
And This Firefighting Hero, and Now, This Dog’s Hero, Today
This Rescued Dog, is Rushed To a Compassionate Vet I Know
Who, When Hearing This Canine’s Plight, Treats Him, For Free
Both of These Men Are Now Heroes to This Dog, Named ‘Rescue’
Who Will Now Become, The Mascot, of Fire Station Number Three
These Are the Types of Rescue Stories,
Which Have Always Filled Me with Glee;
So Many Animals Today, Need a New Hero,
They Deserve Our Compassion, Not Our Cruelty.
