Music: Can You Feel The Love Tonight?
She had been rescued, from death row
At an overflowing animal control facility
Soon after, she had wandered off, terrified
Now, she was lost and alone, in a strange city
And soon, a small army of compassionate souls
Began to spread the word, about Cricket’s plight
People were calling other people, passing out flyers
An army of volunteers searching, both day and night
Soon, there were several sightings of this terrified lost dog
I got a call that she was spotted at a huge construction site
Early the next morning, several of us drove out to this place
Hoping to corral her, and to put an end to her terrifying plight
A construction worker, had spotted her crouching under a supply trailer
A store owner, had seen her digging through the garbage, behind his store
A truck driver soon stopped, to inform us what street he had seen Cricket on
We were very grateful many more people were now helping, like never before
I set out my dog trap, with some very enticing food and water for Cricket
But she never even saw it, as she raced away once more, into the dark night
Thankfully, a group of compassionate lawn cutters, had read her ‘Lost Flyer’
They managed to gently coax her into their truck, rescuing Cricket at first light
The head of the Rescue Group that had saved Cricket from Death Row
Soon gave her a much needed bath – she was now caked in dirt and bugs
Now we’re all hoping and praying she’ll soon be adopted by a caring soul
Who can replace her life of abuse and neglect – with lots of love and hugs
And while we were getting a lot of help in locating and corralling Cricket
An area resident told us about another tiny, homeless, canine in the vicinity
I spotted him last night, so forlornly wandering all alone, down a dark alley
I’ve named him ‘Shorty’ and I’m hoping that he, too, soon gets his own army

And there was I thinking this was going to be about how well we did at Cricket this year. Now being the worlds best.
I shoulda known better.
Valid point, we should indeed, be using the army to protect the world rather than destroy it.
you, to me, Ed, are an entire platoon by yourself
and Cricket is another animal lucky and i'm sure
grateful in her innocent animal way for your goodness.
