Adamantly refuse to increase taxes on the rich?
A large number of them today, are among them
Paying their fair share, they will continue to resist
At least 250 of our so called ‘leaders’ these sad days, are millionaires
Who all attempt to cut unemployment benefits, for the common man
As they continue to keep America’s tax burden, on the working class
But forcing the rich to pay their fair share, is certainly not in their plan
Most of our elected politicians today are part of the ‘One Percent Club’
None of them, worry about losing their homes, or feeding their families
The abysmal economy in our nation today, has not affected them at all
They get insider information about investing, not available to you or me
While most Americans have lost so much, our ‘leaders’ holdings have grown
Their lofty net worths, have increased by at least fifteen percent, since 2004
For the rest of us in the ninety-nine percent, many have lost nearly everything
No matter their political party, they are ‘representatives of the people’ no more
And alas, all this talk about throwing out the incumbents and electing new blood
Is also a pipe dream, because their political replacements will also be millionaires
The latest figures show that a campaign election today, costs at least $10 Million
There are no heroic ‘Common Man’ candidates with that kind of money out there
The sad truth today is that most of our so called elected ‘representatives of the people’
Do not have the same concerns as the rest of us, and view life through a different lens
We can all rant and rave, and protest and petition, and bombard them with irate letters
But unless we can somehow change our ‘Millionaire’s Club’ system, this will never end
And I’m really growing very weary of hearing from our ‘Leaders’
“You cannot tax the rich; they are the ones creating all the jobs!”
Ask your millionaire ‘representatives’ how many they’ve created

By its very nature, public job creation kills private job creation and the increase of government employees at all levels has increased dramatically over the past decade.
