A retired, disabled, police officer
Has been reunited with his friend
His Pit Bull Terrier named Snickers
May they never be separated, again
The small town in Iowa where they re-located
Soon told him that Pit Bulls were not permitted
They threatened to take Snickers and destroy him
He had to send his pal away, which was killing him
So, this heart-sick, disabled, police officer, filed a lawsuit
Stating that the Federal Disabilities Act allows Service Dogs
Regardless of their particular breed, including Pit Bull Terriers
Now a Federal Judge has granted him a reprieve, under federal law
This Vietnam Veteran and Retired Police Officer suffered a stroke in 2008
He was confined to a wheelchair, and unable to use the right side of his body
He was soon paired at the University of Illinois Medical Center, with Snickers
His faithful friend, who helps him walk, and finds help for him in an emergency
Once again, this proves to me, that Breed Specific Ban Laws, are ridiculous
No type of dog is born vicious, vicious human beings attempt to make them so
I’ve rescued numerous Pit Bulls from the streets, which were such gentle canines
As obviously is this service-dog named Snickers, who makes his human friend whole
The meanest canine that I have ever rescued was a tiny, emaciated, abused, Poodle
Who had been burned with matches, and beaten nearly to death, with a baseball bat
She wanted to bite my hand off, and it took many weeks, before she could trust again
But once she did, she became the sweetest little dog, who loved cuddling up on my lap
A retired, disabled, police officer,
Has been reunited with his friend;
His Pit Bull Terrier named Snickers,
May they never be separated, again.
