One of my favorite parts of our animal rescues
Is visiting rescued pets, now in a loving home
We had rescued adorable little Lily of the Field
Who now delights, in a loving home of her own
She was adopted by a most compassionate couple
Who had already taken in several homeless waifs
Today, little Lily is just as joyous as these others
I went to visit her and her pack just the other day
And like my own pack of once abandoned canines
Lily’s pack very quickly accepted her in their midst
She’s the fourth one from the left in the photo above
Lily, once so sad and lonely, today bursting with bliss
It also always amazes me how every animal that I rescue
Always remembers me, no matter how long that it’s been
Little Lily recognized me immediately, and rushed on over
Showering me with grateful wet kisses, over and over again
And very soon, I very happily watched Lily and her pack, at play
All of them romping together, out in their backyard, so carefree
I hope to continue rescuing and finding homes for homeless pets
The joy that I eventually see in their faces, brings immense joy to me
