And I had a feeling in my gut,
That I had to go see this dog.”

As every pet rescuer knows and understands
There is something special about rescued pets
They truly appreciate their second chance at life
And this is one of the best rescued pet stories yet
Lucas suffers from a debilitating metabolic disease
His loving father thought a service dog could help him
But he was crushed, when he learned they cost thousands
So he began looking at homeless left behind dogs on a whim
He eventually came across Juno, an emaciated Belgian Malinois
She’d been abandoned, and scheduled for euthanasia at a pound
Luckily for her, a canine rescue group, had posted her dire plight
And thankfully for Lucas, by his loving father, she was now found
He saved Juno from Death Row, and decided that he could train her
Today, attentive, loving, appreciative, Juno, never leaves Lucas’ side
That ‘special bond’ now exists, between this boy and this rescued dog
A fantastic ‘win-win’ situation that fills every animal rescuer with pride
“Today, diligent Juno alerts us when Lucas is about to have a seizure,
Or if his oxygen levels drop too low; she has saved him several times;
It really feels as if it was meant to be – my son and this rescued dog,
And today, you don’t see one without the other being very close by.”
As every pet rescuer knows and understands,
There is something special about rescued pets;
They truly appreciate their second chance at life,
And this is one of the best rescued pet stories yet.
And on a side note, marvelous Belgian Malinois like Juno,
Because of their intelligence, are used by law enforcement;
They’ve also earned special recognition in our armed forces,
Where a canine just like Juno helped Navy Seals find bin Laden.

What a moving story! We all need dogs for different purposes of our life. How many problems do we have which the dogs can easily solve. Sadly we are not turning to these beautiful souls at full swing.
