In forest, city, and den,

The cry goes up to witness,

The soullessness of men.”

Pray that your pet will never get lost

Because very few today will help him

Some claim that we’re God’s children

Me? I think that the Devil has moved in

All the horrors I see today sicken me

As does the cruelty of our human race

And our apathy and our self-centeredness

Are now horrendously on the rise these days

This poor canine stood trembling at a school

Emaciated, starving, now barely able to stand

He was hoping for a little compassion, from us

Instead, beings like him, are now invisible to man

A hundred human beings were gathered at this school

Parents, their young children, and school teaching staff

None of them had the time or the inclination to help him

This canine in need was invisible, as they all rushed past

Luckily for him, one person took pity on this starving abandoned soul

She quickly rushed home, and she returned with some food and water

Another human soon mocked this woman for her compassionate action

“Oh, Christ! It’s only a damned dog!” and she laughed, as did her daughter

‘Old Duke,’ as we are now calling this abandoned, starving, emaciated canine

Has been taken to an animal hospital to treat his maladies and end his suffering

Today, only one in a hundred human beings seem willing to help their neighbor

We have lost our souls and we teach our children not to care; this is our humanity

A ‘Chip-In’ Has Now Been Established,

For Anyone Wishing To Help In His Care;

No Being Should Endure What Duke Has,

Yet, There Are So Many Like Him, Out There.

It's only an animal Ed, you see when highly trained proffessionals people with so called brains, can cut a dog open, spray poison in it's eyes, or make them drink it, etc,etc, or a do it to a little mouse, and so on, that lady, and I use the term loosely, it's only a dog, well, you see, it's not brains, there is a lot of brain power out there, but heart, compassion, they don't teach that in higher learning do they. Bless your soul, I shall send a small amount on the end of the month, and you, I send a big hug for caring.

E.G. SO MANY 'BEGGARS' WITH SIGNS ON ST. CORNERS, WE'VE BECOME CALLOUSED
AND UNTRUSTING, KNOWING SOME ARE 'PROFESSIONALS' BEING DROPPED OFF &
PICKED UP BY A 'BOSS' WHO GETS THE MONEY ...

BUT - ANIMALS ARE INNOCENT OF ANY SUCH 'DOINGS' !

Yes, this is sadness beyond belief. I just read a clip from a friend who expresses how not compassionate we are about our Senior citizens. Yes you can say we treat them like most people treat dogs these days.
Alone and forgotten. It this the wave of the future? God help us.

Crying, can't be helped this breaks my heart. I will never ever understand humankind and cold hearts that could possibly turn their back on this gentle creature. Thank Him above He sent an Angel to help Duke.

We, as a race, have forgotten that animals have feelings too. We have forgotten that when all else fails us, our dog is still there.
I doubt the majority of the human race is capable of that kind of loyalty.

IT'S NOT THAT YOUR 'CALL' DOESN'T TOUCH ME...BELIEVE ME, IT DOES. BUT RIGHT NOW I HONESTLY DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO GIVE. HOWEVER, I HAVE JUST MADE A NOTE FOR MYSELF AND WHEN I CAN, I WILL. YOUR 'MINISTRY' IF VERY IMPACTING...I HOPE IT NEVER CEASES. AND, BY THE WAY...I KNOW YOU MUST HAVE SEEN IT ON THE NEWS; TWO STRAY PITTSBULLS WERE CROSSING A STREET, ONE GOT HIT AND KILLED. HE WAS MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE STREET AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES WERE CALLED. HIS BUDDY DID NOT LEAVE HIM, BUT STAYED BESIDE HIM, NUZZELING HIS HIM AND WATCHING OVER HIM UNTIL THE AUTHORITIES CAME SOME 13 1/2 HOURS LATER AND REMOVED HIS BODY AND TOOK HIS BUDDY TO A SHELTER. THERE WAS AN OUTCRY OF HOW LONG THEY TOOK TO COME AND THERE HAS BEEN MANY INQUIRIES FOR HIS ADOPTION BUT THE SHELTER SAYS THAT PRESENTLY HE IS TOO WITHDRAWN TO BE CONSIDERED FOR ADOPTION(WELL OF COURSE HE WOULD BE)BUT THEY ARE SLOWLY TRYING TO HELP HIM. THIS WAS A HEARTWRENCHING SCENE BUT TO ME, IT SUBSTANTIATED HOW ANIMALS HAVE SO MUCH FEELINGS WE CAN RELATE TO. LIKE; THE PAIN AND HURT OF LOSING A DEAR FRIEND AND OF LOVE AND LOYALTY TOO. I IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT OF YOU AND I DON'T THINK I WOULD HAVE EVEN TAKEN THE TIME TO MAKE NOTE OF THIS NEWS ARTICLE IF NOT FOR YOU. THANKS FOR HELPING ME TO 'GROW' IN THIS AREA.
